Welcome to Reiki Healing for Pets, where the power of universal healing energy connects with the love of your precious animal companions. At Reiki Healing for Pets, I take a holistic approach to the health and well-being of every animal. Instead of focusing on a diagnosis, symptoms, issues etc., I see the beautiful essence of the animal no matter its species and harness the healing nature of Reiki energy to bring balance and harmony to every aspect, body, mind and spirit.

Reiki energy healing has been used as a modality to assist human beings to recover from illness, surgery, trauma, anxiety and more for over a century. It has been so successful in bringing patients relief and recovery that well over 200 major hospitals across this country have a Reiki practitioner on their staff. It has actually been brought into the operating room to assist in creating a successful operation.

 

The use of Reiki on animals has only come into popularity in the past 15 to 20 years. Most practitioners who utilize this modality employ the same methods they use on humans, which is a hands-on approach. Moving their hands over the animal’s body and focusing the energy in different areas is typically how the Reiki is administered. My teacher and mentor, Kathleen Prasad of Animal Reiki Source ® created an entirely different approach with animals. It is called “Let Animals Lead” ®, and is based on her many years of experience and knowledge in working with animals.

What Kathleen discerned is that most animals do not want to be touched, particularly if they are not feeling well. Some animals, such as those in the wild, ferals, strays etc., are difficult and too dangerous to approach and attempt to handle. But her method allows for All animals in every environment to be helped by the healing power of Reiki energy. So why choose Reiki Healing for Pets?

 

My approach is to utilize the power of Intention, Focused Breathing, and Meditation to harness Reiki’s healing energy and offering it to the animal by creating and holding space for him or her. The animal is given agency and is respectfully invited into the Reiki space. I ask permission to hold this space for them and they can come and go as they please. Since the Reiki is done from a distance, the animal is not being held, sequestered, or forced to participate in any way. They can choose to enjoy it or reject it.

My experience has shown that animals really love the experience of connecting with Reiki energy. It helps them to relax, feel calm and at peace, “All is well”. Important things to know:

*It is essential that you be aware that Reiki healing energy does NOT Cure anything.
*Reiki is an energy that connects with the parasympathetic system which allows the animal to relax and assists their own innate power to self-heal to engage.
*Reiki is completely safe, gentle, and non-invasive.
*Reiki has no side effects.
*Reiki can be used in conjunction with traditional veterinary modalities or other alternative methods without interference.
*Reiki does not currently have a lot of scientific proof of its efficacy, most
“proof” is anecdotal evidence but that evidence is vast.

Sessions are 20 minutes to 30 minutes and are done distantly. Because energy is not dependent on time or space, it can be sent across the room or across the globe and be equally effective. In preparation for the session, I will ask you to be where you can observe your animal companion during the session but avoid interacting with him or her. It is important to try to keep distractions to a minimum. The animal should ideally be in a situation where they are relatively quiet, not engaged in play etc. Following the session, I would like to get your feedback as to what you observed and what you may notice within the following 24 hours.
